Chapter 1

Make your labels

Kid's turn

First they draw anything they like. A scribble is perfect!

  1. Snap their drawing

Lay it flat in daylight and take a photo from straight above, or upload one you already have. Thick pens and crayons work best.

Grown-up tip: Fill the screen with the drawing, not the table.

  2. Pick a style and add their name

Keep it exactly as drawn (free), or try a Magic style. Then choose the label colour, frame and lettering.

Put them on

Grown-up's turn

The labels are DTF (direct-to-film) transfers: printed labels you put on fabric with heat. A grown-up should always do this part. See our safety information.

What you need

  • Your labels and the instructions in the pack
  • Clean, dry clothes
  • A hard, flat surface

To be confirmed: what to heat them with, and anything else you need

  1. Get the heat ready

The instructions in the pack say what to heat the labels with and how hot.

To be confirmed: what to use, the setting, steam on or off

  2. Place the label

Picture side up, on clean, dry fabric: the inside of a collar or the back neck is ideal.

Grown-up tip: Inside the collar, it stays out of sight.

To be confirmed: what goes over the label while you press

  3. Press

Press straight down for the time in the instructions.

To be confirmed: how long, and how firmly

  4. Peel the film

Peel the clear film away slowly, as the instructions say.

To be confirmed: peel hot or cold

Where they go best

  • Inside collars
  • Care labels
  • Inside hats
  • PE kit
  • Coats
  • Book bags and PE bags
Chapter 4

Washing and care

  • Wash inside out where you can, and follow the washing instructions in the pack.
  • Check the labels now and then, especially after the first few washes.

To be confirmed: when to first wash, the wash temperature, drying and ironing

Quick questions

What can I put them on?

Clothes, PE kit, coats, hats and bags. They are heat-applied to fabric, not stickers, so they are not for water bottles, lunch boxes or other hard things.

Which fabrics should I avoid?

Check the garment's own care label first: a fabric that cannot be ironed is not a good place for a heat-applied label.
